IceFire Technologies Pty Ltd respects the rights of all individuals in relation to the privacy of the information collected, held and used by the corporation. IceFire Technologies take every effort to ensure the protection of your personal data.

IceFire Technologies does not collect personal information contrary to the Privacy Act.

What Information do we collect?

We collect information about our customers such as: names, addresses, telephone numbers, credit card information and e-mail addresses; depending on the kind of transaction with us.

We may use information that personally identifies you to

  •  inform you about products and services;
  •  improve the products and services we offer; and
  •  otherwise better meet the needs and preferences of our customers.

We do our best to be clear why we collect your information.

We will not collect sensitive information revealing your race, ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union memberships or details of health or disability. Exceptions to this include:

  •  where you consent to our doing so;
  •  where the law authorised us to do so;
  •  where it is considered reasonably required by law; or

What is 'personal information'?

How does IceFire use your personal information?

We will only use or disclose your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act.

We will only use or disclose personal information for the purpose that was specifically or reasonably apparent at the time of collection. The personal information that you give us will be used in order to process your request as well as to assist you in subscribing to our products and services.

More specifically, we use personal information collected in the following ways:

  •  to ensure that our business systems and processes are operational and reliable, which may include fulfilling legal obligations;
  •  to conduct marketing activities including market research;
  •  to enforce a contract or agreement which we have with you.

In particular, we may use your personal information for direct marketing where it is impractical for us to gain consent. In these circumstances, we will give you the opportunity to decline receiving such communications via an opt-out mechanism.

Cookies

To improve our websites, we record information about time, date and URL of request (the web page you arrived from) via our web servers.

We use an anonymous user ID via a cookie to track visitor usage across our websites. A cookie is small file or part of a file stored on a user's computer, created and subsequently read by a website server, and containing personal information (as a user identification code, customized preferences, or a record of pages visited). Every time you view a page, this user ID is sent back to our servers.

This ID is deleted at the end of your session.

We also use a persistent cookie to hold user preferences on site operation. These preferences are accessed by your web browser to configure the operation of the site to your requirements, but are not downloaded back to our web servers. If you choose to save your password this will also be stored on your local machine in a persistent cookie not downloaded to the server.

If you change the settings of your Internet browser to disable cookies or to warn you when cookies are being used, you will not receive cookies. But this may stop you from using some services or enhanced functionality.

Links to other websites

Some of our web pages may be hosted by third parties from time to time. If we come into receipt of personal information collected from one of those pages, that information will be regarded in accordance with our privacy policy.

Our web sites contain links to various web sites not operated or controlled by us. We will NOT be responsible for the privacy or security practices of those web sites and those sites are not covered by our privacy policy. Those web sites ought to have appropriate privacy and security policies, which you should be aware of.

Advertisements on our websites may collect information about you when you access their advertising or content through the use of cookies or web bugs. Information collected this way is beyond our control. You should satisfy yourself of their privacy and securities policies.

Disclosure of personal information

IceFire Technologies will not sell, rent, trade or otherwise commercially supply to third parties any personal information obtained from you unless we have your consent.

In the event of requiring third party specialists or software vendors on behalf of our customer, this is done using the identity of IceFire meaning no personal information is divulged.

We may disclose your personal information to our employees and/or our business suppliers or partners, here and abroad, (for the purpose of the services which they provide) so that we can complete a transaction on your behalf or provide you with a service that you have requested or for marketing purposes.

In these circumstances we will take reasonable steps to ensure the relevant parties agree to strict conditions governing use of personal information.

IceFire will also disclose your personal information if required to do so by law.

How does IceFire Technologies protect and control access to your personal information?

IceFire has security measures designed to provide appropriate protection against misuse, loss, modification or disclosure of information from unauthorized parties.

Such measures include:

  •  firewalls and login password protocols for all information stored electronically;
  •  network segregation for sensitive information stored electronically, with access restricted to staff holding appropriate positions;
  •  secure, access-controlled offices;
  •  limited access sites for data stored as hard copy;
  •  confidentiality provisions in our employment and service contracts;
  •  registers are maintained of all visitors to any part of our premises where personal information may be stored, and such visitors are required to be accompanied by a member of our staff at all times.

We cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us or receive from our online products and services. These activities are conducted at your own risk, as we cannot guarantee full security for data transmission over the internet, but we will endeavour to protect your personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access.

You therefore should not send credit card information through unsecured electronic mail.

Updating personal information

We take reasonable steps to ensure that the information we hold about you is accurate, complete and up-to-date whenever we collect or use it. If you become aware that such information is incorrect in any respect, please contact us or our privacy officer.

Accessing personal information

You can access your personal information upon reasonable request, but some exceptions to this include:

• where providing access will provide a serious threat to life or health of any individual or pose an unreasonable impact on the privacy of an individual;
• your request for access is frivolous or vexatious;
• where information relates to existing legal proceedings between us and you; or
• where providing access would be unlawful or may prejudice an investigation of possible unlawful activity.
